We are the station that has all the news entertainment and information Aucklanders need to enjoy and know what is going on in their city of sails.

We’re proud to be Aucklanders. We are family friendly and you won’t need to change the station when the kids are in the car.

BIG 106.2 launched on 1 November 2008, and we want to help you and your school!

We're proud to be local and independent, and will be focusing on Auckland events and happenings (as well as playing great music!). Here are a few ways we can help you, and you can be involved with BIG 106.2.

NEWS & SPORT

We have a team of local journalists here, and we promise to deliver the news and sport that Aucklanders want to hear first. This could be your first fifteen or netball results! Let Tim (our dedicated Sport Journalist) know all about your achievements by emailing him here. You may make our local news!

MEDIA STUDIES

Know someone who is interested in radio and journalism? Then come for a visit! Contact Anna on 929 4999 or email her here, to make your date to come and see us. We’ll show you around our purpose built radio station, and you can even make a recording to take home in our specialized production suite! Our staff and announcers will be here to answer all your questions and show you behind the scenes of a fantastic live and local radio station.

HIGH SCHOOL HIJACK

Would your students like to plan and create their own radio show?! We can come and talk to your Media Studies Class about working in the radio industry and invite them to do the High School Hijack, where with the help of some of our staff they’ll make an hour show to feature on Sunday night. They’ll have to pick music from lists we provide, choose a topic to focus on, record interviews, etc. This can all be made in a couple of hours on station, any day of the week. They’ll receive a Certificate, photos and a CD of the show that they put together.

We’d love to be invited to your next BIG event!! We can also help promote it by running free advertising though our Community Notices and featuring it on our website. Drop Anna a note at annak@bigfm.co.nz and let her know all about your BIG event!
