First Candidates for Super City Council Revealed

The first group of people have put up their hands for the 20 seats on the new super city council.

Among the 11 candidates who come under the Citizens & Ratepayers banner are former Auckland mayor Christine Fletcher, Olympian Dick Quax and Auckland Chamber of Commerce head and ARC councillor Michael Barnett.

Citizens & Ratepayers president John Slater says another nine candidates will be announced as the election gets nearer.

He says the party plans to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on its campaign.
