Impromtu caesarean for shark at Kelly Tarltons

Visitors to Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World have witnessed a rare sight, one shark giving another an impromptu caesarean.

Kelly Tarlton's aquarist Fiona Davies says she has never seen or heard of anything like it and was amazed that the shark bit in a place that did not harm the mother or the babies.

Staff at the aquarium were unaware that the shark was pregnant and say the actions probably saved the baby sharks lives.
