$3 Million Worth of a Key P Ingredient Discovered

Five Chinese men have been arrested after Police and Customs officers found $3 million worth of a key P ingredient in pallets of granite arriving through Ports of Auckland.

The ContacNT was hidden in secret compartments hollowed in the granite, which was in a container originating from China.

Police say if sold in its raw form, the ContacNT has a street value of around $3 million. It could have been used to make between 13 and 20 kilograms of methamphetamine.

The five arrested men are aged between 17 and 22 and have been charged with possession of pseudoephedrine for supply and importing the substance.
