The trial of an Auckland schoolteacher has been abandoned after the 62-year-old changed his pleas to guilty over committing indecent acts on a primary school student.
Nicholas Raymond Baldwin has admitted to six charges of committing indecent acts with a young person under the age of 16 and two counts of sexual violation by unlawful sexual connection.
Police say the offending occurred between January 2007 and September 2008 when the boy was aged between 11 and 13.
The name of the primary school where the man worked has been permanently suppressed by the courts.
