The Auckland cricketers continue to sit at the bottom of the Plunket Shield table after suffering a 24 run loss to Otago in Dunedin.
After being set 358 to win, the Aces got off to a tremendous start as Tim McIntosh (89) and Jeet Raval (58) combined for a 149 run opening partnership. But when the pair were both dismissed in the space of two balls, the wheels started to fall off.
Richard Jones, Andrew de Boorder, Aranu Kitchen and Colin de Grandhomme all scored in the 30s, but Auckland struggled with spinner Nick Beard, who finished up with six wickets as Auckland were dismissed for 333.
Auckland now have just one win from their seven games after winning the four-day competition last year.
