DOC Hails Poison Drop a Success

The Department of Conservation is hailing the recent controversial poison drop as a success.

Native birds are finding their way back to Rangitoto and Motutapu Islands after poison cleared the area of rats and mice.

DOC project manager Richard Griffiths says the number of rare New Zealand dotterel has risen from between six and eight to about a dozen on the islands.
