Little Spotted Kiwi Released on Motuihi

The largest and final group of little spotted kiwi are being released onto Motuihi Island today.

The 26 birds from Kapiti Island will join the original 14 released on Motuihi last year.

Ruud Kleinpaste, the spokesman for the BNZ Save the Kiwi trust, says if the project succeeds, the little spotted kiwi population is set to grow by 50 percent in the next decade.
