North Shore Mayor Not Surprised by Super City Revelations

North Shore Mayor Andrew Williams isn't surprised about the daily "shocks" being revealed to Aucklanders as the transformation to the super city draws nearer.

Mr Williams says he has been warning residents for the past 11 months about the mess ACT Leader Rodney Hide is creating, privatising the city's assets and shutting Aucklanders out of any decision making.

He says the latest revelation about the waterfront and transport being controlled by Government selected boards has the ACT party written all over it.

"They have said for many, many years that they want to see provatisation of public assets in the Auckland area.

"This is, by stealth, the ACT party manifesto coming through."

Mr Williams says voters will be out in force come October if things carry on the way they are.

He says ACT has made no secret of it's desire to privatise Auckland's assets and at the moment leader Rodney Hide is being given the free reign to do whatever he wants to the city.

"By the time the election comes around Aucklanders will be so appalled by what's being put before them that they'll want to vote.

"They'll want to vote in a coucil that will try to pull this all back together."
