Parade of Champions Marches Through Newmarket

The annual Auckland Cup Parade of Champions marched through Newmarket yesterday to kick off the week of racing festivities.

Well known personalities from TVNZ series Dancing with the Stars joined the parade along with former Auckland Cup-winning jockeys and horses, fashion floats, marching bands, circus stilt walkers and the Auckland Cup itself.

Traffic was only disrupted for a short time after the parade got underway at midday.
