BASKETBALL Breakers Sign Mika Vukona

The Breakers have confirmed the signing of Tall Blacks forward Mika Vukona for the next Australian Basketball League season.

Vukona rejoins the Breakers after two years in Australia where he played for the South Dragons and the Gold Coast Blaze.

Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis says Vukona fits nicely into their up-tempo, disruptive defence style of play.

The Breakers now have just two vacant import spots in their playing roster.

Meanwhile, a huge effort from Breakers star Kirk Penney hasn't been enough to prevent his Sioux Falls Skyforce team being eliminated from the NBA Development League playoffs.

Penney put in a terrific performance with a game-high 36 points, but the Skyforce suffered a 111-101 to the Tulsa 66ers.
